The CA impurities in the Al-Si-based alloy increase the viscosity of the alloy fluid, reduce fluidity, form casting defects such as pouring, stranging and porosity, resulting in significant casting waste rates. Since CA is mainly from crystalline silicon, it is necessary to strictly control the CA content in crystalline silicon. With high purity silicon or high plate silicon, Al-Si alloy can be controlled below 5 ppm, but this greatly increases the cost of raw material.
In response to this status, Shandong University developed ultra-low calcium industrial crystalline silicon (brand SD-SI4401-01), used in Al-Si pistons and die casting, so that the product is controlled by impurity control, metallic tissue, product quality and yield, etc. Spectancy is synchronized.


Implementation Effect
With different grades of industrial silicon formulated near-eutectic Al-Si-Si-Si-Si-Si-Si, as shown in Table 11-1, it can be seen that the ultra-low CA content of SD-Si4401-01 makes the final prepared Al-12Si-alloy in CA. The content can achieve high-purity silicon as the raw material, so this low calcium industrial grade crystalline silicon has important application prospects and promotional value.

Product advantages
The SD-Si4401-01 contains low Ca, and the amount of Al-Si alloy Ca fuse does not exceed 8 ppm, which is equivalent to the high purity silicon.
The dissolution rate is fast in the aluminum melt, less oxidation, and the cleanliness is high.
The application cost is low and easy to use.


Product specifications
SD-Si4401-01: The CA content is not higher than 0.01%, Fe and Al content are not higher than 0.4%; mainly including three specifications of silicon blocks, silicon particles and silicon powder.


Application field
It is especially suitable for the configuration and smelting of the piston and the co-casting industry Al-Si-based alloy.
